About Lillian

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Lillian has had a very rough life already living as a street dog, begging and stealing just to stay alive. This 2 yr. old girl is grateful to have someone finally care for her. Her survival days are over and she is most thankful and deserving.Lillian will do well with a family who will continue to teach her and keep her safe. A family who will not just throw her in the back yard but a family who will continue to give her new experiences and worship her for the loving, gentle, kind soul she is! Lillian is a 40 lb. Formosan Mtn Dog who has seen more in her short life already than most senior dogs. She is still a bit cautious with strangers and needs some time to warm to strangers. Lillian is a gentle soul who will require an empathetic home, a home that will allow her to warm on her own terms, and a home who truly understands what it takes to comfort a rescue dog. Lillian finds comfort in her open crate and has learned that the couch is a good spot to take a rest. She plays extremely well with her canine buddies of all shapes and size. Lillian is a sweet pleasure who is eager to trust and a dog who surprises us every day! A little love and kindness goes a long, long way in the life of a rescue dog! She is spayed, micro chipped and up to date with her vaccinations. If you would like more information about her please send your reply with a contact number. Please consider adopting before purchasing a new puppy! Application/contract, home check, references and adoption fee do apply.

Temperament and behaviour

The Formosan is a high energy, loyal, affectionate, and intelligent breed that learns very quickly. In unfamiliar situations though, they tend to be wary of strangers and sounds, and at times, they can possibly become fear-aggressive. In new situations where the dog is fear-aggressive, it can take a few days before the dog will calm down.

If comfortable and well-trained, the Formosan will be friendly to people and other animals, though they tend to be a bit aloof or suspicious of strangers, once they have bonded with their owner. Once bonded, they are extremely loyal and affectionate to their owners.
